3 months

Smiles and giggles arrived with little Naomi's 3rd month of life and we just can't get enough of them!  Little toothless baby grins are the best!  You can't help but be happy around them.

 Peter decided one day that his sister needed to dress more like a boy, so he gave her some style tips, which of course included a tie.  They were both trilled.

 We blessed Naomi the end of September  and were so grateful to have family in town to join in her special day.  One of my friends made her this beautiful dress, which you can't see to well in the pictures, and the boys thought she looked like a princess.  Although she is not too sure about her brothers holding her...

 After lunch the boys were more than trilled to play with Grandpa and his IPad. 

 And daddy and sister took a nap :)

 And then she took one again with Grandpa :)

She is such a sweet little girl, and I am so blessed to have all my babies and for the chance to raise them in the gospel.  I hope I will be able to teach them what they need to know to progress through this life and give them the tools they will need to succeed.

One thing is for sure, the boys sure do love their sister!  They are so sweet when they try to play with her or take care of her. And she seems to enjoy it for the most part!

Bike

Peter has been wanting a bike for a while and we decided to get him one for his birthday.  He was so excited!  The day we got it for him he and Alan tried riding at our house and he was doing great I guess until he started going down hill too fast and couldn't figure out how to stop and had a little tumble.  After that he would pedal and few times and them stop himself.  To help cure him of his anxiety we sent to the park where there were flat trails and after about half an hour his confidence was back and he was zooming around.

 Isaac did a pretty good job of keeping up in his little hot wheels bike, I think he is going to need a big bike of his own next year....

Peter turns 4

In September Peter turned 4!  It is fun to look back over the year and see how much he has grown both physically and mentally.  He is still going to preschool at Montessori and he loves it.  I think he would go everyday but mommy is not ready to relinquish him to school all day just yet.

He wanted to have a shark party so we had an under the sea theme for his birthday.  Here the boys are digging for sea treasures in our "ocean."

 Peter REALLY wanted a shark cake, and as much as I would have loved to tackle making a big 3D shark cake, I opted for this version since mommy was still pretty sleep deprived with the baby.  And guess what, he loved it and is was super easy! :) 

 Alan even found this chocolate rocks to put around it.

 Apparently Peter felt this way was the fastest way to consume his cake, maybe not the cleanest but hey that is what birthdays are for right?

 Isaac never has a problem eating his cake...the messier the better in his mind!

 

Happy 4th birthday Peter we are so proud of you and love you very much!  Peter's natural curiosity keeps him busy exploring and creating all the time.  I hope that we can help him keep that and direct it in the right path.  He loves to read and to the astonishment of his parents loves reading the scriptures...I find him sometimes listening to the Book of Mormon on my kindle.  He is learning to focus more and wants so much to be helpful with his sister.  His is totally all boy, he loves digging for worms, fighting with swords, running, jumping and climbing.  He can tell you every type of shark by seeing a picture of one, can do the same for most snakes and fish.  I am just amazed at his memory, although sometimes he remembers things I wish he would forget...but I guess that just comes with the territory. 

Month 2

Little Naomi has been busy growing this past month.  Depending on the day and what she is doing she looks like one of her brothers so it is safe to say she is a good mix of us all! 

Every time I put her on the floor to get some floor time the boys think it is an invitation for them to snuggle up as well.  They love sharing their own blankets with her and she loves the attention...for the most part.

Courtesy of Peter I get my picture taken with Naomi every time I pull the camera out, but since this was a day were I had showered and looked halfway normal I actually kept it. :) 

She was apparently tired this evening because I put her down for tummy time and found her this way a few minutes later....thankfully her brothers didn't find her and try to jump on her.

She started smiling this month, I love little chubby baby smiles...Naomi is such a happy little girl.  She is either sleeping, eating or just happy.  I love that she is starting to pay attention to what is going on around her.  At her two month checkup she was 12.5 pounds so no more worries about her not gaining enough weight. 

Self Hair Cut

So we sent Peter to bed last week in our room because the boys were being too crazy together.  Which is a common occurrence in our house and not usually a problem.  After Alan got Isaac settled he went to check on Peter and found him in the bathroom.  Peter asked him how he liked his hair and at first glance all Alan could see was that he had gotten it wet and assumed he put hair gel in it.  As he got closer though he noticed chunks of Peter's hair on the floor, and when he could see the top of his head there were 3 or 4 spots where he had essentially scalped himself.

 I was downstairs feeding the baby and all I heard was "Oh no, what did you do Peter?"  This is what I saw when they came down.

Peter's response was it's just hair, it will grow back....well, what do you say to that? I made him go to school like that hoping that maybe the reactions from his teachers and friends would help dissuade him to cut his own hair again.  Then after school we went to get his hair cut.  I still get a little sad every time I look at him, he looks like a totally different person!  I guess I need to find him a good warm hat!

first month

Some photos of Naomi's first month, as you can see she is great at sleeping and really loves to snuggle with the warmest body she can find.

 She has gotten more attention than I think she wants from her brothers but she tolerates them well.

 We enjoyed a visit from grandpa Jensen who took every opportunity to snuggle with her that he could. :)
