So Monday evening was quite the emotional one for me...we had long ago decided to only have one car while Alan is in school, thus the purchase of our "family" car. Well, he had such good luck with selling our giant computer desk on craigslist that we decided to give that a try with the truck since carmax would only give us $500 for it.
Well, I got home from a long day at work, took some pictures and then posted the add at about 6 pm. By 6:05 pm both Alan's and my cell phones started ringing. The first call was a lady saying they had cash and were on their way over! By 7 pm we had cash in our hands, and I had signed over the title. (but this did not stop the calls, those lasted until Wednesday I think...)
I was actually more emotional than I thought I would be since I haven't even been driving it lately, but it was really sad to sell it. It was like selling a piece of me. As Alan put it, she was my "I'm an independent, sassy woman who drives a truck so you better get out of my way" vehicle. And now I am a married, pregnant, hot and puffy woman...with a car. Which is true, but I also think it has a lot to due with the fact that I bought that truck when I graduated from college and it has been everywhere with me over the past 9 years-oh the memories made and forever cherished in that truck.
