Easter

The week before Easter we sat down to color eggs..good thing we only have 3 kids, as it is I think I cooked up 3 dozen eggs!  It is fun to see their excitement since I have fond memories of doing it as a kid, the only problem is that Alan and I still like coloring them...so for next year I think I am going to buy some of those fake eggs you can color and we will work on them after the kids go to bed!

Well except for the yolk...that got thrown on the floor.

 The boys were so much less messy this year but we were really surprised with Naomi, she would plop her little egg in and then scoop it right up!

 Overall, a few colored fingers and some happy kiddos!

 We had Conrad and Peter hide the egss for the hunt.  Heather suggested we give each kid a color of egg to look for so it made the hunt go so smoothly.  No fighting or arguing...the kids even helped each other out with finding them! It was amazing!

 Discovering the Easter baskets!  It was interesting having Easter and General Conference at the same time.  On one hand I think it really helped set the tone for the holiday, but on the other it was kinda weird not to go to church!  Speaking of conference, the kiddos did great this year listening to it!  I set up a little work table with some fun things to do and they pretty much sat quietly and played.  I actually got to listen to some talks!

 I tried a new recipe for Coconut cream pie...it was amazing..I didn't get a before picture, but this was all that was left!

Here is a picture of the kiddos in their Easter outfits!  I miss Tower Grove park where I would take pictures of them in the daffodils, but still fun with all our flowering trees.

Messes, snakes and shots

So while I am trying to cook dinner is Naomi's favorite time to raid the cabinets that I forget to lock back up.  She is getting pretty good because I don't even notice until I hear a bag rustling in the family room and discover something like this...funny thing was she wasn't even eating them until I started to clean them up!  Thank goodness for leather!

 Clipping finger/toenails at our house can sound like I am pulling nails out instead of just clipping them.  I don't know why the boys get so crazy about it.  But Naomi apparently has no such fear.  After I was done she set about to do some touch ups!

 Another trip to the zoo, and the snakes were very active.  They must have been hungry which is totally freaky since they have this huge albino boa but the kids thought it was awesome.

 Cousins came for a visit, and of course I only got two pictures, but we had a fun time even though it was rainy and cold most of the visit!

We started swim classes back up again and it is pretty awesome to see how much they have improved even after a few months off!  I don't have pictures because well it is hard to take them when I am in the water with a splashing kiddo!  They love being in the water and I love that they are learning to swim so that I feel they are a little safer around the pool!
I have been starting to get everything ready to register Peter for Kindergarten...whoohoo!! He is SO excited!  I have been trying to get the kids medical records transferred so I can get the up-to-date shot records...and we finally did so I took him to get his 5 year shots.  Oh my gosh!!  It was the worst doctor visit ever!  My kids have never had a problem with dr visits or dentists...but the nurse pulled out those syringes and Peter went crazy.  I ended up having to put him in a full body lock and hold his head so he wouldn't try to bite the nurse!  Which totally freaked the other two out so Naomi started crying and Isaac went and hid under the table.  Who knew 5 year olds turn into demons at the doctor?!?  They went ahead and gave Isaac his as well and even after all of Peter's outburst, he did pretty good.  So note to self...get all Naomi's shots done at 4! And daddy gets to take her :)

January

We had a few non freezing days when the sun came out so I packed up the kiddos and we headed to the zoo!

Naomi's first ride where she was actually hanging on herself.  You can't really tell but she was so excited to ride like her brothers!

Naomi is now the favorite of the cats I think mainly because they realize that other than getting a poke in the eye every once in a while, she is pretty harmless, and slow!

And she just loves her tiger!

We decided to start having the boys do chores, and with that a way to chart and a reward system.  We wanted them to learn to always pay tithing first and to also always put some money away to saving before spending it so I found this great idea on pintrest and thanks to my uncle stan, have a fun 3 jar system that sits in a box.  To help them with taking ownership, I let them paint them!

 Now I just need to get some handles and label them!

We went to visit my parents the last weekend in January to pick up our cow!  My dad raises cows as a little hobby and we buy a half of one from him every year!  Thank goodness for a cold day to transport it all home! The kiddos had fun exploring all of grandma's toys.  An intense game of Go Fish going on...

 And much to daddy's dismay they even got a manicure from their auntie Leslie!  While we were there we went to watch her cheer at a basketball game and Peter caught one of the shirts thrown at halftime!

Doing some sensory activities together!  I am always amazed at the difference in doing activities like these from the boys and Naomi, she will sit quietly working on these activities for half an hour, I would be lucky to get the boys to sit for 5 minutes!  Of course Peter had to help and make sure she was doing it right!

One of my new recipes, Hungarian bread.  It tasted as good as it looked!  Can't wait to have an excuse to make it again!

We signed the boys up for a clinic called Bitty Basketball this month.  They didn't play games, just learned basic skills.  The boys had a ton of fun, and Alan and I sure did enjoy watching all these little kiddos learning skills.

I also finally got their room painted blue, they were so excited to not have purple walls anymore! We still need to paint the trim and get some art and shelves up!
