Handy Peter

So the other day Peter was playing with a few pieces of wood that I had laying around from some little project.  When I asked what he was doing he said he was building, and I said , "Ok, have fun" and he did.  But a little while later, I think out of frustration that he couldn't do much with two pieces of wood, declared that he needed more wood...and a few second later said, "we need to go to Uncle Stan's!"  I just laughed.  He was right.  Uncle Stan has lots of woods scraps and aunt Karen is more than happy to find a home for it.  So that is what we did.  He spend the next day tinkering around with a little hammer, some nails and some scraps of wood.

 (by the way this was in the summer, and it was hot, but for some reason Peter wanted to wear a thick sweater...)

 Isaac enjoyed the fun too but I thought a plastic hammer would be a better idea for him since he has a tendency to hit things he is not supposed to.....

Take me out to the ballgame....

Alan's work has some fun family activities that they sponsor and most of the time we don't go because the kiddos are too small or he is on call.  This time they had tickets to a local minor league baseball game with dinner provided beforehand.  Alan was on call but I thought the boys would like to go and since I had some extra tickets I invited my aunt and uncle to come.  It started raining right as we were parking...which was unexpected since we have been in a drought...but we still had a great time.

 

The ballpark is very family friendly and the rain stopped after we were done with dinner, which was under a tent thankfully, and the boys had a fun time!  They especially loved one of Alan's co worker's children who were boys a few years older...they were in awe! :)

Isaac

Just some fun pics and stuff of Isaac.  He is turning into quite the little character...one minute I think he is the cutest silly little boy and the next I am pulling my hair out...or rather he is! 

 

This is how he likes to sit and watch the t.v., he likes to perch up high for a better view I guess.

Here he is playing Peek a Boo with his puppet socks.  He loves to play peek a boo and recently has been fascinated with putting socks on his hands to use as puppets, or tickle monsters.

I also started watching a little girl in our ward on Thursday and Fridays.  She just turned two so is just 6 months older than Isaac so they have become good little friends.  I think it is good for them both and wow what a difference a little girl is!!

This picture is mainly to show all of the sad bumps and bruises this poor child gets...I sometimes really wonder if he ever pays attention to where his head is!

And this picture is for my dad.  Alan made ribs one night and Isaac being and even more picky eater lately due to teething I figured he wouldn't want to touch them unless it was cut up.  Which was the case until he saw us eating them and then asked for one.  To our surprise, he polished off 3 of them!  Alan was so proud :)  Although the next day we tried to give him some leftovers and he didn't want anything to do with them...go figure!

First Day of School

The week after we returned from our trip to California, Peter started preschool .  To say he was excited would be an understatement!  He has been looking forward to this day for months.  We found a school that is just wonderful, it is a Montessori program and we just fell in love with it when we toured it.  He is only going half the day twice a week, but we are excited to see how he does.  He will be the youngest in the school since he really won't be 3 for another month but we think he is ready...so fingers crossed!
