November

So Peter thought Naomi needed some beautification while we were at my parents house for a little visit.  I think she had like 20 necklaces on.  Some of them were hard to get off because they were stuck in her little neck rolls.  He even gave her a ring and some bracelets which she loved chewing on.

 We started her on some solids somewhere between 4 and 5 months, around the middle of November.  Here she is with her first food, butternut squash from our garden-YUM

 And here she is trying to eat Peter who thinks it is so funny now to get some part of his body in every picture.

She is working hard on trying to get some new teeth so anything and everything goes in her mouth.

Naomi has been learning to talk and giggle and our house is now filled with adorable little girl sounds.  It's funny how there is already a difference between her and the boys.  So far she thinks her brothers are the funniest people around.

Halloween

We invited some friends from church over to carve pumpkins with us mainly so I could make some Halloween treats to share with someone other than us!  Our homemade was a hit, the boys really loved the "fog"

 We went over to my aunt's house to join with cousins for dinner and to go trick or treating in their neighborhood since Alan was on call for Halloween.  We had fun, but called it an early night since my boys were up late the night before for our ward's trunk or treat.

We had way more candy than our boys could even eat so mom and dad of course had to help!  

December

December was of course a crazy busy month.  I try really hard to keep things simple but December always seems to overrun with all kinds of fun things.

Naomi turned 5 months old this month and is such a sweet girl.  She loves sitting in her walker so she can see everything that is going on and it protects her from her brothers overabundant "love".  She wakes up happy, talking and smiling and unless she is hungry or tired is that way all day.  I just love to kiss her chubby checks and tickle her chubby rolls. 

One week for FHE we made gingerbread houses.  The boys had SO much fun and it was perfect that we each had our own house to decorate.  I am surprised though that any decorations made it to the houses since the boys kept eating them....but that is part of the fun I guess!

We got snow a few days before Christmas, and the boys were so excited!  It has been so cold that the snow is powder so not very good for snowmen but great for playing in!

Peter has turned into quite the helper and if you can believe it even more independent.  He even asked to wash the dishes the other day.  Which I of course agreed to!

Isaac had a fun time decorating presents with daddy and I was surprised that he was really good at keeping them a surprise! 

My two explorers.  They love WildKratts and are always off exploring some habitat and looking for some creature.  I love that their imagination is so active and that they are finally able to play together for more time without having to have mom as a referee. :)

Merry Christmas! 

Naomi loves stuffed animals and dolls.  Is she a girl or what?  And if she can chew on it, all the better!  Glow worm from grandpa Jensen, she was very intrigued with it's glowing face!

We invited the neighbor girls over to decorate cookies with us, they all had fun and our new decorating squeezy things were a hit.

Christmas day was perfect!  Peter was so excited he woke up around 4 am and came into our room to let us know that Santa had come!!  I was afraid he wouldn't go back to sleep, but he finally did, and we got to sleep until 7 when Isaac came in.  We told him Merry Christmas and like magi Peter's little head popped up and said "Santa Came". 

The boys were very happy that Santa was able to find them some awesome bows and arrows that are kid friendly and fairly safe!  And daddy won daddy of the year with his presents of foam sword, shield and treasure chests. 

Naomi loved the ribbons and wrapping paper of course.

Daddy liked them almost as much as the boys.  He and the boys spent the rest of the day play fighting and having a ball.

We had a wonderful Christmas and hope that you all did too! 

October

We once again went to our local pumpkin patch to enjoy the autumn festivities.  I love seeing all the fun pumpkins in their various shapes, sizes and color.  Isaac loves the "BIG" ones. 

And both boys loved climbing over and through the piles and stacks of pumpkins.  I really wanted to get Naomi in the pile with them but they wouldn't even hold still with just the two of them so putting her in the mix seemed like a disaster. :)

Feeding the animals is always fun. I am glad the boys are not scared of animals, it makes life so much more interesting! 

I think Peter waited all year just to dig in this giant sandbox again!  This year Isaac was actually big enough to join in.

The boys tried their hand at "roping" this year, which was quite entertaining.  As you can see, they roped themselves more than the bull.

We decided to go to the actual patch and pick our own pumpkins this year.  Something Alan and I have never done.  

It was fun to go exploring for the best pumpkin.

Although it was hard to choose the one they wanted the most.  But we did finally end up with some perfect ones to take home and carve.
