Two Birthdays

With my birthday a week before Christmas we get to do lots of celebrating in December!  The boys were SO cute this year!  First off after we woke up Alan handed me a card and inside was a card for a day spa and he said my appointment is at 9! :) So after a quick breakfast and shower I was off to get pampered for 3 hours!  It was perfect, just what a needed and wanted. Some quite relaxing time!  Then I came home to flowers and balloons picked out by my little boys and they were in the process of making me a cake!
I think I loved watching them just as much as they did making it!

For whatever reason they decided I needed a chocolate cake with purple frosting and purple sprinkles.

 And frost it they did!

Can you tell how proud they were of themselves??
I couldn't ask for better boys!  All three of them, they are the best!
And here's my monkey on the table, her new favorite place!

For Christmas Eve we decided to try something new this year that I have heard many others try.  First of all in trying to keep Christmas about the Savior we have been reading the New Testament every night and then watching the Bible videos that correspond with them.  I think doing both has really made an impact on all of us.  Then for our dinner on Christmas Eve we ate dinner like shepherds and watched the video Joy to the World and talked about what it would have been like for the shepherds.
Here is our feast!

We then opened Christmas jammies

And sent kiddos to bed to get ready for Santa.

I am not sure who had more fun...Santa setting up or Peter in discovering...

We wondered how much longer Christmas morning would be late for us...if this year is any indication...not much longer!  The boys had a bit of a hard time settling down and then sometime maybe around 6 I heard little footsteps heading downstairs.  I waited and after not hearing anything tip toed downstairs myself and found Peter like this.  He was so cute!  We let him go and wake Isaac up and let the festivities begin!

I love that we get to spend the morning together opening presents, playing with them and just having fun!

Isaac with his new sword and shield!
 Peter and daddy playing war

 Naomi with her new baby!

Trying to eat her orange, peel and all!
 Ninja cookie cutters from cousins!
 Chocolate, enough said!
I really want the kids to develop a love of giving and I think they did a great job this year really thinking about others.  Here are the wings and phone the boys got their sister!
Playing store with Isaac's new cash register!  He is our money man!

Daddy surprised everyone with two kittens for Christmas! The kids were thrilled...the cats, not so much!  But I am sure they will get used to each other!  The orange one they named Tiger and the grey one is Ms Kitty.

Playing Twister!

During Naomi's nap we iced our gingerbread houses!

 Think they used enough frosting?

We had a great day, we are truely blessed!

Oh my goodness, Peter squirting out the frosting to decorate his gingerbread house was my favorite! Twister looked like a party to and Naomi looked happy to have a baby to push around. Great post.

Cute. Alan was always the first one up at our house.
