Sitting

At four months Peter started testing his independence by trying to sit up, it took him about 3 weeks but he was finally able to do it all by himself, even if he does look a bit like a gorilla. He is especially good at it without his clothes on, I haven't quite figured out why that is yet but I think he have a little budding nudist on our hands...And I just love this picture...I can think of a few headings for it but would love to see what you think he is "saying" in this one...And here he is after a long day of practicing...who knew sitting was such hard work!

Fingers and Toes

Peter has been a fan of his fingers from birth (and even more now that he is teething) but has recently dicovered that he can grab his toes with his fingers. They have been intriguing to him previously but he hadn't figured out how to get them. Now they are his favorite toy!

Needless to say he really loves it when I leave his toes naked.

The 2010 Olympics

As many may know I am a sports fan-and I grew up watching the Olympics so I was super excited for the start of the Winter Games this year. I don't know if anyone has been watching but it has been quite the exciting games so far...but I feel a little sorry for Canada as there have been quite a few issues as well. For starters there was an accident during a practice run in the luge that led to a death before the games even opened, then there was the technical malfunction of the lighting of the torch, warm weather and rain that was melting the snow and ice, issues with the zambonie (spelling?) which caused unsafe ice and a huge delay and then to top it off last time I checked they only had 9 medals. Not things you want happening when you host the Olympics but they seem to be taking it in stride. But on the flip side, there has been quite alot of positive excitement especially for USA. Some of my fav's were the men's figure skating, snowboard halfpipe (I have decided they are all crazy) and short track speed skating. As I have been watching these and other events though I have realized that we do alot of crazy things in the name of sport-many I wouldn't even dare. Like strap yourself onto 2 wodden skiis and go down a hill and then up a 4 story ice ramp and then flip and twist and land hopefully on your feet...I love the halfpipe, but it is the same story, I saw someone face plant it on the top edge and the traniner in me cringed. Or how about sliding headfirst done an ice track at 90 miles an hour with a little helmet and some spandex between you and disaster? But I love it, I love the suspense, the anticipation and the amazing things we can make our bodies do if we put our minds to it! Go USA!!

In memory of the recent Valentine's Day I wanted to give a special hello to Alan's little girlfriends-we hope you had a great day and didn't eat too much candy!
We miss you and think you are the cutest!
