So you may be wondering were did the month of June go? Well, last Sunday I went to upload my pictures from my camera and I wasn't paying attention to what I was doing and put my memory card in the dvd drive instead of the little slot next to it! I have tried unsuccessfully to get it out and after being totally frustrated and mad at myself I have come to terms with the fact that I need someone else to try and get it out....in the meantime, I can update on recent posts!
Or baby girl turned one this week! I can't believe it, where did my baby go?!
We had our little celebration here on Sunday before Alan took off for the week to Colorado to go do a high adventure camp out with the varsity scouts. (I know, daddy missed her first birthday!) I had the bright idea the 3rd time around with 1 year old cakes to frost it with whipping cream instead of butter cream, because lets be honest, what 1 year old needs all that sugar? I saw a beautiful cake decorated with white large roses and adapted to be more fun for Naomi. I think it turned out pretty good!
Naomi took her time exploring her cake but by the time she was done, it was upside down and in pieces! That's my girl!
Her brothers waiting patiently for their cake!
I made a larger cake for everyone else. It was vanilla with raspberries and cream in the middle, topped again with the cream. If you want a stabilized whipped cream recipe, this one is what I used. I have done it a few times and it turned out great every time.
Everyone had finished their cake and ice cream and she was still going strong! I love the look of concentration in this picture!
She had been trying to feed Alan her cake all night but he was busying socializing so mommy gave in and let her feed me!
And here she is right before mommy took the cake away since more and more was ending up on the floor...I think she did a pretty good job of demolishing her cake!
Daddy finally let her feed him and I think she would have fed him the rest of the cake is he would have let her!
Happy birthday my sweet little girl! You bring so much joy to our very blessed life! Or family feels complete! Some stats for Naomi...she has 4 teeth with 2 more on the way, she is walking, mostly refused to sign because she knows that someone will give in and give her what she wants. She thinks her big brothers are the funniest people ever, she has daddy wrapped around her little finger and she reminds mommy of herself! She is such a happy girl, a little more on the reserved side but usually happy and content. She says da-dy and tries to say "boo-K" and "Is-K", has said Mommy once and can sign milk, down and up. She loves to read books, color, be outside and mimic anything and everything her brothers do! We sure do love her to pieces!
